How to go from Summer to Fall Fashions

I know if you’re anything like me, you aren’t ready to put away your summer clothes just yet.  It’s too soon; summer can’t really be over yet, right?  You wish.  Anyway, up here in Maine you can expect anything from starting temperatures in the 40’s to afternoon temps in the 70’s.  What do you do?  How do you dress?

Layers, layers and more layers!  Be prepared.  That’s how we survive up here.  Start with a tank top, add a blouse and then a sweater or jacket.  As the day goes by you may need to peel off a layer or two, but you’ve got a fabulous base, so you’re all set.

Lightweight sweaters and ¾ length jackets are ideal for this transitioning time of year.  Scarves are also a great way to stay warmer in the morning.  I am already wearing shoes and short boots because if my neck and toes are toasty, I’m all set for the day.  Capri pants and vests will carry you a long way into the fall as well.

As far as color goes, I’ve seen a lot of gray, purple, black and beige coming out for this fall.  Fur is everywhere from vests to trim on everything, even shoes.  So have fun putting your fall fashions together but don’t ditch all of the summer clothes just yet.  Let them accent what you put together for the next few weeks.

Enjoy your day…..
